Wine estate
The RISECCOLI estate and wines tell a story beginning in the early 20th century when Florentine artist Prof. Romano Romanelli (1882-1969) acquired the land, villas, vines and olive groves in the hills above Greve in Chianti. Coming from a line of artists and mainly known as a member of the Florence Academy of Art, Professor Romanelli had a comparable interest in agriculture and viticulture. Over the years the circle of RISECCOLI wine lovers grew as the Romanelli family embarked on several viticultural studies and experiments, always aiming to bring to life wines representative of the terroir and the Tuscan winemaking tradition. The winery is still in the family and the next generations continue with the same passion as Professor Romanelli and the belief that the finest examples of Chianti Classico wines are crafted and produced in smaller parcels.
